There are a whole list of things like this that I would use if 
available, such as Hough transform (and or Radon transform) for lines 
and/or circles. Binary or grayscale moment analysis. And being able 
to filter out of an image say small blobs or lines or even on moment 
characteristics. These could be great enhancements to IM.
