After my gripe today (sorry about that) I recieved a flurry of responses
regarding the JavaScript "enhanced" WebMagick page. Although there appear to
have been a couple of successes, it appears that most Netscape 3.01 users only
saw their browser crash:

Mac Netscape 3.01 (took down entire OS!)
AIX Netscape 3.01
Solaris 2.5 Netscape 3.01
Windows NT Netscape 3.01

It is obvious that Netscape 3.01 has a nasty bug. Regardless, if JavaScript
is going to be used, I need to find the formula that doesn't tickle this bug.
Since Netscape 3.01 had stopped crashing for me, I thought things were ok.
Microsoft IE 3.0 seems to work just fine.

For those of you who were not able to bring up the page, what you would have
seen is something like:

	 -------------
	| | |
	| | |
	|--| |
	| | |
	| | |
	| | |
	 -------------

With directory listing in top left, thumbnails in bottom left, and image
display on right. This is pretty normal WebMagick except that you would have
seen the image corresponding to the first thumbnail automatically displayed
centered on an attractive background. Backward and forward navigation buttons
display in the image viewing frame so you can just click the mouse repeatedly
to navigate through the images. The HTML to do this is generated on the fly.

I am thinking about extending this so that thumbnail selection pages
automatically cycle when you reach the end of a particular thumbnail montage.
Another possibility is an optional "slideshow" mode that displays a sequence
of images with a programmable time delay (not for use over modems).

Thanks for your responses. I'll try to eliminate the browser instability
problem before I ask for your help again.

Bob
