If the image is loaded correctly, you didn't make any mistake.
But it may take some time to perform the color reduction on 24bit
images that are displayed on a 8bit display.

Try
   animate image.mpeg    instead of    display image.mpeg

To see how  display  or  animate  are working during image loading
it's a good idea to start them without an extra argument and
load the images form the menu.
