In Mandrake 10 you with the ZyXEL ethernet connection in place:
Assuming KDE from the menu choose:
->System
	-> Configuration 
			-> Configure your computer

In the "Run As" dialog box insert the root password and click the OKAY
button.
>From the selection offered Choose 
"Network And The Internet"
>From the selection offered Choose 
"New Connection"
Click the radio button
"Lan Connection"
 -Assumption your ethernet card has been identified by Mandrake-
>From the selection offered Choose a Net Device 
In this case click the radio button beside:
eth0
Then click the Next button
>From the selection offered choose
Automatic IP

Tick the boxes opposite the following words:
Assign
Network
Start
Then click the Next button
Then click the Next button
Then click the Next button
>From the choices offered Choose:
Yes
Then click the Next button
Now click Finish

Now Click back twice - "main menu"

Choose Security
Choose Firewall
Until you know more make sure _nothing_ here is checked.
Click Ok.
Choose eth0 for the the interface name.

Click File and Quit.

Now for the fun part the Zyxel.

Start a web browser:
->Internet 
	->Web Browser
		->Konqueror
Type 192.168.1.1 into the Location dialog entry box.
Login as Admin using the password you choose for the router.
Choose Wizard.
Make sure the Mode is set to Routing.
Click next until you get to the test screen, all other settings should
be okay.
Logout.

In your web browser type www.linux.ie.
Enjoy your linux box online.
