I did copy&paste the descriptions from fbsd review posts, but few words ahead: first \
one is implementing an instrument to fetch disk media related information from disk \
abstraction layer (block device -> disk -> partition), to have simple mechanism to \
read partition and disk data. This interface is proved to be useful in different \
cases, one of is presented as second link here.
Second issue is direct consumer for first and is about large disk support - \
apparently the current workaround still has holes (there is an case with 8TB disks \
and SATA interface which is reporting disks with size 0xFFFFFFFF). So the better \
solution was needed. The same system does behave ok with this fix.
Aye, both updates are also just posted for review in fbsd, and not yet commited.
