Dear Srinivas,

I see austrdup() mentioned in the umsg.h documentation comment, but there
is no such function in ICU itself. Instead, there are functions like
u_austrcpy() (ustring.h) and ucnv_fromUChars() (ucnv.h). For this sample,
either one should work.

Generally, your best bet to get answers to technical questions is to
- look at our web site
- look at our (still draft) User Guide there
- look at our API References there
- ask on the icu mailing list - please subscribe before you send anything

Best regards,
markus

Hi Sir/Madam,

I am Srinivas. I am working on C Internationization
for one our company development projects. For that we
are using IBM ICU 1.8.1.

We are able to configure it on NT and run the samples.

While running a sample MsgFormat application which is
given as part of the umsg.h file we are getting a
warning austrdup undefined. Its been used to convert
UChar* to Char*. We tried that putting normal C
function strdup. Still it is giving the warning.
The function is not found with the zip file we
extracted for Windows version from the site downloads.

Hope U can help us in this regard. Also some help
needed in future how we can approach Message
formatting and Data conversion routines supplied along
the zip file.

Thanks in advance.

Warm regards,
SrinivasK
