There seems to be some file new.h missing or misreferenced
in the distribution.  Got partway through make, after a 
successful configure, and got:

	Types.h:32: new.h: No such file or directory
	In file included from Obj.h:29,
       	          from Str.h:30,
       	          from StrDict.h:29,
       	          from StrDict.c++:26:
	Types.h:32: new.h: No such file or directory

acres of this kind of message, and a fatal error.

I will start digging, but a quick clue would be handy.
