Perl 5.8.8 is the latest version of perl that is now available
on HPUX, PA and IPF. You can download it from
http://www.hp.com/go/perl

What is new in perl v5.8.8
. You need not set the compiler to be used for module builds
  using the change_config_pm. The compiler used for module builds
  is decided upon based on the compiler available on the system.
  The order of preference of the compilers are
  - HP C/C++ compiler
  - GCC
  - Bundled HP compiler
. DBI module v1.50 is available as part of the HP-UX perl depots.
. sitecustomize.pl script can be used to add values to @INC
  variable.
. vendor_perl directory is now enabled. Users-compiled modules
  can be installed under this directory.
. Perl is built using libcl.2.
