Hi,
Is there any documentation on the performance issues with using +DAportable
vs. building for a specific hardware platform? In particular I remember
hearing a long time ago the PA 2.0 was worth ~10% in highly numerical
applications, so we always target the PA 2.0 chips. (of course sales wants
to use a cheap laptop which is PA 1.1, so I'm being asked to justify the 2.0
only rule we currently have)
Also, what does targeting a specific scheduler (+DS) do you for? Will the
same code build for a J, vs. a K vs. a V series show a major difference in
performance?
Finally, anyone had problems with the same code on different architectures
or schedulers? Unfortunately I can't justify a V-series here ;-)
Thanks
Chris Curtin
