It would help if you cut and paste the session before it crashes. What is the
version number ? What operating system ? How is it invoked ? If you are invoking
the GUI, does it also crash if you directly run /opt/langtools/bin/gdb ? Gdb was
enhanced to print the stack trace upon a crash : what does it show ?

As someone else pointed out the contents of your .gdbinit file could be a
factor. Run gdb with the -nx option and see if the problem goes away. If it
does, try commenting out the lines there to see if the problem goes away.
