Thanks to all replies. Vinay's was the best and detailed. Others valuably added new \
commands and knowledge to my database.
Original Question:-
How do you find out which shell you are in. Does HP have a command line command to \
find that out similar to id that gives you your used id,etc info.
Answers that I received:-
1. The Latest PID tells you your current shell (you can also use $ ps |grep
sh |sort )
7934 console 0:00 tcsh
whereas your original login shell is
1176 console 0:00 tcsh
you can check your passwd file for the login shell.
cat /etc/passwd |grep uid
for your id output.
your uid is snadmin gid is sn and your are also part of informix and cdr
groups.
2. Try either set or env.
3. finger <username>
echo $SHELL
ps -f ( look at parent id )
