Hello,
our root disk (only 2GB big) is now nearly full. I cleaned already
all unneccessary files (tar.., temp files...) and linked
/tmp to /home2/tmp as well /var/tmp to /home2/var/tmp.
So I could not save more space.
Up to now no logical volumes are defined. The system has got
4GB and 18GB external disk attached recently.
/dev/dsk/c0t6d0 1650769 1457662 28030 98% /
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0 3702049 1266247 2065597 38% /users
/dev/dsk/c1t6d0 17306470 513298 15062525 3% /home2
I could add another 18GB external SingleEnded SCSI drive
(We were not able to plug the SUN disk on the fast-wide SCSI interface
due to termination mismatch so we need to use the slower 8Bit SCSI
interface for /home2 disk) which is not yet on the system. OS is HP-UX 10.20.
My question is now: How can i add the new 18GB external disk to root
disk as one common logical volume without a need of reinstalling
the whole system? Is it possible in principle. As I do not have any
experience with logical volumes any hint would be very appreciated.
Best regards,
Rupert Thanner
