Hi Admins !

I have a question which concerns adding a disk array in a cluster
configuration with two machines and an autoraid box.

Present Config :
------------------
Two HP machines (E9000 ; HP-UX 10.20)
Joined in an MC/ServiceGuard Cluster
With Shared Disks on an Disk Array with AutoRaid.

Add another Disk Array in series.

Problem :

I requested HP Engineers to come and add the disk array.
They said that if we add this disk array in the above way,  "the physical
volume names of the LUNs 
in the AutoRaid box will change".
This sounds strange to me.  I feel the AutoRaid box,  its LUNs and all of
its configuration should remain untouched
as long as the SCSI address of the AutoRaid box is unchanged.

Any comments ?

If the physical volume names do change,  I will need to (a) backup 35 GB of
data,  (b) add disk array, (c) recreate vol groups etc. (d) restore data.

Any shortcuts ?  I have two buses (alternate links).  So, can I play around
with (a) remove alternate link (b) add disk array on the
"alternate_link_bus",  (c) redefine alternate link, (d) remove primary
link, (e) add disk array on the "primary_link_bus", ...
