Michael, just as I expected, you have the solution.
I. The solution is:
1. Just the opposite of what I was doing.
2. NOT USE SPACES AT END OF LINE worked great with:
a. imp
b. yahoo
c. gmail
as clients

PS. Hopefully the silly formating example above will even make it
throught listserv.
