Comment:

 According to the debug report the code just allocated 313244 bytes on the
 stack. The thread only has 256 KiB (262144 bytes) stack, so this obviously
 a bug in the applcation. I suppose the problem hadn't been noted before
 the introduction of ASLR because there would be another area adjoining the
 thread's stack and thread would happily write into that instead.
