 I updated my USB stick to r43692 today and it was still black desktop.  I
 then did the trick of using an older intel_extreme driver as it worked
 before but now it goes directly to VESA as if the system does not
 recognize the old driver anymore.  I double checked if everything was
 right (Accelerent and driver in the right place with the symlink) ,

 This is on my aspire one netbook.  Another long lasting problem is that it
 does not shutdown (screen stay blue and i have to press power).
