Comment(by anevilyak):

 Note however that it will still do the calculations for emptying the
 trash, since that's potentially a quite time consuming operation and it's
 in my opinion more user friendly to be able to indicate progress correctly
 there, even if it does mean a bit more overhead at the start of the op.
