Yes, that's the idea.

If a small set of users really can't upgrade to 1.6 for whatever
reason, and face a very critical bug, we may provide some patches to
1.5.8 later on (1.5.8.x ?),
but it's most probably be unlikely. And user should think about
upgrading instead, as there's no promise on further 1.5.x versions.
