xdg-open is just a shell script.  I noticed that it is different on 
different OSs.  Regardless, GraphicsMagick only uses this 
functionality for opening up help documentation (a copy of the web 
site) while in the 'display' or 'animate' programs.  It is not used 
for any normal processing.  If GraphicsMagick is requested to open an 
http or ftp URL, it uses libxml2 functionality to do that.

The newer version is the better version.  Lcms 1.XX is no longer 
supported or developed whereas 2.XX is very actively developed.  Only 
one is needed.
