Let me clarify the notes a bit:
This capture is intended to demonstrate a bug in gpsd-2.95. If the GPS
unit loses its view of the sky it begins to report fix quality=0
(invalid) in $GGA and 3d fix=1 (no fix) in $GSA, but libgps fails to
report mode=MODE_NO_FIX. The xgps client continues to update the
satellite view, but the lower portion of the window remains static.
When a sky view returns, xgps continues and the 3D fix time resumes
counting upward.
Other notes:
The FAQ at berlios.de has a link to
https://www.mainframe.cx/cgi-bin/gps_report.cgi, which has a broken link
to https://www.mainframe.cx/hardware.html. I suspect that the FAQ
should link to berios.de instead.
