When I do insane things, like telling gpsd to open a 600MB file full
of NMEA and use that as a device, yes, I see multiple sentences, but
as best I can tell, they are being parsed correctly (and
individually).

Does this happen with gpsd from SVN? Can you send me a log of this
happening (yes, I know it'll be big, that's ok)?
