It would be nice to see consumer devices start using RTK also.

I notice that RTCM is now selling the NTRIP protocol.  This is a bit
annoying since they are taking something that started as a GPL-ed work
(my dgpsip client and free datastream from ~Jan 1999) and taking it
proprietary in several different ways.  It sounds like it costs $50 to
find out what the protocol evolved into.

I wonder if it would have been possible to take out a BS software
patent on the idea back in Jan 1999 and then only licensed it to
open-source implementations.  ;-)
