to unpack an rpm, you need the "rpm" executable ("which rpm" at a prompt
to see if it is installed). if installed, you just need to change to the
directory where the gPhoto RPM is located, and type:

	rpm -i gphoto-0.3.5-1.i386.rpm

to install it. this will install the binary, all the libraries, as well as
documentation.

sorry. this is a GNU-only release and will not run under windows.
