Well, if I were to prefer running a stable version with the latest bells
and whistles, I'd want to upgrade whenever a new version came out. On
the other hand, if the only changes were to camera libraries for cameras
I didn't own, why would I bother. 

It seems to me that major releases of libgphoto2 shouldn't be driven
only by new camera libraries. And vice-versa...
