I agree with that.  "cntrparam" is too obscure.  "cntr" could mean 
"counter", or "control" or whatever the user's preconceived notion of 
"cntr" is.  Also, my first thought was "set cntrparam", realizing it was 
part of contour, was in fact the label of level curves.
