Hello,

I'm using gnuplot 3.7.1.

when I plot data, the ranges (x and y) are automatically calculated by
gnuplot.
There are the following data points (only as an example):

0.3 1
0.4 1.2
0.5 1.2
....
2.5 2.2
2.6 2.5

I can fit by any function f(x). When I plot f(x) and the data, the xrange is
set automatically i.e. to 0:3.
When I plot only f(x) xrange is from -10 to 10, if the xrange isn't set
manually.
I can define a function f1(x) with
f1(x) = xmin<x && x<xmax ? f(x) : 0/0
How can I get the values of xmin and xmax from the data?
Something like:
xmin = min of column 1 of data file or anythzyng else
xmax = max of column 1

Regards

Reinhold
