Hello guys,
A new release of Bonobo hits the FTP server.
* Availability
ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/unstable/sources/bonobo
* New in this release
* Nat's renaming of Gnome to Bonobo for the module name, and the
APIs.
* Activation support on Controls.
* Controls work now.
* Controls/ControlFrames: lets you embed single GtkWidgets.
Simpler than writing Views/Embeddables, as they are
single-view based.
* Toolbar/Menu merging
* PropertyBag support (Like Delphi's Properties, actually,
inspired by its interfaces), using the nice POA trick to
demultiplex requests.
* Controls can be embedded in Toolbars
* BonoboDesktopWindow: handler for your GtkWindow to expose a
Bonobo interface.
* BonoboWidget: simplified embedding of Embeddables or
Controls.
* New GenericFactory object implementation
* Resizing has changed and works better.
* New Gshell for testing multiviews.
* New setup for setting up _epvs and vepvs.
* More sample components, more sample code, more documentation.
* GnomeWrapper supports borders on activation.
* Lots of bug fixes
* Upcoming work
0.7 will be released soon with Maciej's optimization for avoiding
using GtkPlug/GtkSocket when the components are on the same address
space (shared library components) and Havoc's work on adding libOAF
support. Expect this next week.
Enjoy,
Miguel.
