If I insert an SD in my reader it is automatically mounted as
read-write.
Is the read-only slide-lock on the card set?
What is the filesystem on the card? Perhaps it is actually permissions.
Does dmesg or /var/log/messages show any errors or warnings concerning
the card / card-reader?
