            Bug ID: 16985
           Summary: localedef erroneous error message
           Product: glibc
           Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: localedata
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: myllynen at redhat dot com
CC: libc-locales at sourceware dot org

The error message localedef prints out when pointing to a non-existing
directory seems to be wrong, at least it could be much clearer:

localhost:~> localedef -f UTF-8 -i fi_FI /tmp/no/such/dir
cannot write output files to `(null)': No such file or directory
