Nevertheless it may work because it seems the HP Deskjet 5652 is a
sufficiently good printer that does not need a very special driver
for exactly this particular model.

According to

the "HP Deskjet 5652 Color Inkjet Printer"
belongs to the so called "APDK device class(es): DJGenericVIP"

Those device classes are described in more detail at

Accordingly the "HP Deskjet 5652 Color Inkjet Printer" should be
compatible to some extent with all/many/some of those models so that
it should/may work to select one of those models in Gutenprint.

I would first try models listed under DJGenericVIP
that are also listed at
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/p_Supported_Printers.php

I do not have Mac OS X so that I do not know what one has to do in
Mac OS X to set up a printer as if it was another (compatible) model.

If it prints but the quality is lousy, try another model
and also have a look at
