   I spoke too soon.  Printing did stop.  I hit Pause and then Resume,
   and printing continued.  It would be nice if Gutenprint kept trying
   to reconnect instead of just stopping like that.

CUPS is responsible for trying to restart the job; there's nothing
Gutenprint can do about it.
