   Hi,

there are several old drivers for Epson printers around which are not
maintained well enough anymore and are most probably unnecessary due to
   Gutenprint.

   See for example

   http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=689595

This bug report is about the drivers "mj500c", "mj700v2c", "mj6000c",
"mj8000c", and "photoex". "photoex" never appeared in the database and
"mj6000c", "mj8000c" I will mark obsolete as their printers are
   supported by Gutenprint.

Their are the following printers marked as supported only by "mj500c"
   and "mj700v2c":

   1. Epson MachJet (listed as supported by only "mj700v2c")
   2. Epson Stylus (listed as supported by only "mj700v2c")
   3. Epson Stylus Color 200 (listed as supported by only "mj500c")

The first two are 360x360dpi BW, is it possible that they are compatible
with the Epson Stylus 800 (which is supported by the "stcolor"
   Ghostscript built-in driver)?

The Epson Stylus Color 200 is a 360x360dpi color printer.

If somebody with access to any of these printers wants to write a
printer definition, I'd be happy to accept it.

There will probably need to be some code change for the first two;
currently the Epson driver assumes that every printer is capable of
printing color. That shouldn't stop anyone from writing a definition
for it; at least at first it would simply mean that the printer
claimed to support color, but if you tried to print in color mode,
something would go wrong. I can make the necessary change when
somebody writes the definition.

I'm not interested in personally chasing any of this down. These
printers are really, really old and there probably aren't a lot
working now. But if someone wants to make it work, I'm happy to
accept the change.
