I commonly save my .xcf files with .bz2 compression.  When I try to load a
file with .xcf.bz2 suffix I get:

 ea% gimp img.xcf.bz2

 /local/lib/gimp/0.99/plug-ins/bz2: Segmentation Fault caught
 [n]othing, [e]xit, [s]tack trace, [a]ttach to process: s

 ** ERROR **: file bz2.c: line 164 (run): "FALSE"
 wire_read: unexpected EOF (plug-in crashed?)

An attempt to save to a file ending with .xcf.bz2 yields a quick return but
no file.

This plugin worked fine in previous gimp versions.  bzip2 and bunzip2 do exist
in the search path.

Solaris 2.5, gtk-1.0.2, compiled with gcc-2.8.1 -O3.
