Subject: [gentoo-user] /mnt/hda1 should be empty, but isn't.

hda1 is the boot partition. It is not auto-mounted. Forgetfully, I ran
"ls -l /mnt/hda1" before mounting the partition. I got:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 772492 Jul 4 15:51 System.map-2.6.7-r7
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1415596 Jul 4 15:51
      bzImage-gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.7-r7
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 24519 Jul 4 15:52 config-2.6.7-r7

I haven't used the 2.6.7-r7 kernel for over a month now, and removed it
entirely from my system about a week ago. Once hda1 is
mounted, /mnt/hda1 has the "real" files, i.e., the ones I put there, w/o
a trace of the "ghost" stuff listed above. Anyone with a notion why
these show up?
