What does the patch do, out of curiosity?
I'm not in Gentoo right this moment, so not sure if there's an easier
way to do this....
cd /usr/portage/x11-wm/fluxbox
ebuild fluxbox-0.1.14-r1 fetch (probably not necessary if it's already
in /usr/portage/distfiles)
ebuild fluxbox-0.1.14-r1 unpack
It will be unpacked to /var/tmp/portage/fluxbox/something
cd /var/tmp/portage/fluxbox/something--there will be a couple of
directories in there, including one called work. In the work directory
(IIRC) there should be a directory fluxbox-0.1.14-r1 which will have
files like config.h Makefile a directory called src and the like.
cd to that directory. Move the patch that you downloaded into it as
well, to make it easier--say you left the patch in /home/leonard
mv /home/leonard/remember-0.1.14 .
patch -p1 < remember-0.1.14
cd /usr/portage/x11-wm/fluxbox
ebuild fluxbox-0.1.14-r1.ebuild compile
ebuild fluxbox-0.1.14-r1.ebuild install
ebuild fluxbox-0.1.14-r1.ebuild qmerge
There's probably an easier way, as portage evolves all the time, but
that way should work.
