Hello All,

Just updating my ultra box today (after many months of neglect) and I
noticed a lot of my environment variables are gone. When I run "env" on
my sparc, I get a very limited set of environment variables... the biggest
problem is my PATH only includes /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin. When I
run the same "env" command on my x86 gentoo box, I get 4 lines of paths.
I checked my /etc/env.d directory and everything in there seems right.
Any idea why my shell isn't getting all the variables? I tried running
env-update and it doesn't change a thing. Below is the full ouput of my
"env" command....

-bash-2.05b# env
REMOTEHOST=ihatent.defeet.net
TERM=xterm
SHELL=/bin/bash
SSH_CLIENT=192.168.1.11 50494 22
SSH_TTY=/dev/pts/7
USER=root
MAIL=/var/mail/root
PATH=/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin
PWD=/root
SHLVL=1
HOME=/root
LOGNAME=root
SSH_CONNECTION=192.168.1.11 50494 192.168.1.10 22
DISPLAY=ihatent.defeet.net:0.0
_=/usr/bin/env

Any idea of something I should check or re-emerge? I have roughly the
same apps on my x86 box as I do on the sparc box, so the paths should be
somewhat similar.

Thanks,
Daniel
