Andy,
The driver is not working. I am cc'ing the Gentoo-SPARC list in case others
may have a solution.

Subject: SPARC64 SUN E3500
Hello Joe,
A few weeks (no, months *g*) ago, I actively discussed with
Jack the problems (and solutions) for Gentoo 1.4 on the
SPARC 64 plattform.
As we do have a SUN Enterprise 3500 with a Fibre-Channel
Disk-Array (also the internal disks are connected through
FC-AL) I could give some (hopefully helpfull) feedback.
Unfortunately I wasn't able at that time to get Gentoo install
on our SUN....
Today I tried the most recent ISO image and was surprised,
that I was able to boot correctly (even the smp kernel worked
and successfully activated the four cpu's!)
Well, problems started when trying to access FC-AL drives...
modprobe fc4 works fine, modprobe socal is where the trouble
begins...
FC: Cannot enque FLOGI/REPORT_MAP packet on socal...
Since there is _very_ to find (even with google) concerning
this issue on the internet, I'm wondering if you have ever
came accross this problem?
It seems to be a matter of interrupt-handling and from what
I understand there are fc-al drivers that support this, but
needs to be compiled (since I can't even access my disks,
I can't install and compile :-(
I think that it would be of a great benefit for Gentoo SPARC
if it would support the fc-al drives correctly! If I can be of any
help or support the Gentoo team in achiving this, it would
be my pleasure (e.g. giving ssh access to the machine...)
cu
Andy
