Hi All,

If you are so inclined and have the time, looking for some people to beat
on the versions of xchat as mentioned above.  In particular, see if with a
detached window, you can generate a seg fault by clicking around a lot
with the mouse.  

I've just commited an update to the xchat ebuilds that should fix this, so
wait a few and sync and (re-)emerge xchat.
