OK -- so, given how very simple this wrapper is, and likewise how
simple the switcher script would probably be to write, what's the goal
of this whole thread, exactly?  It doesn't sound like this is
something complicated that we'd need to actually provide via an ebuild
or integrating patches in other init-system ebuilds anymore...
