That's highly, highly, highly use-case dependent. If it's a non-critical service, or in a non-critical environment, that's one thing. If it's a service whose downtime can be measured in value lost, that's quite anothe= r. I've had setups where, yes, I had it respawn. But I also wanted it to send me a core dump so I could investigate. Were I in that circumstance again, I'd automate collection and analysis of the dumps to produce heat maps for me. ------enig2XVIWLCVXLWLTWNRMCFWM Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJRiqm1AAoJED5TcEBdxYwQzmMH/iXRPhM9Ll/j6HF/zeWB0m41 Fc/qhdaCurMNi/2cd2ljRLuR7yc+QE87twC28stLGOAme2n9x/qFShENBG/QgJUx 7ZyU0SIk4fBd8ZJY+0JwaLSqbytnGok38MOVnUcez/RhJtxh1albPKZNnHD5oI+Y X+bR1PIu7ESv0cvFwNzXZ6JKoTFqRnLP4SGxA8MbjRNl1QsgjeWyx5ebcfNn3zc/ TIHtMp+z0Dxx9KABkBCByoSksFIyWtSb/NilpiTiiNQonC77V5TkbOtXRlzVwyeE kKkLegRRcbgKE18fXXZqqK8odeAgslls3T00MhBDKI+8c1A9jmE9NqVPe9NLGn0= =Ytwp -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------enig2XVIWLCVXLWLTWNRMCFWM--
