Hmm .. maybe a hybrid would be good ... 
using a normal p2p type thingy for files under size of say 5mb (or whatever size is \
acceptable to start using bittorrent) and then using bittorrent for bigger ones.

Having a FEATURE of bittorrent enables you to use the bittorrent for bigger files but \
also  lets portage keep the link open so other users can use it ass well as \
bittorrent is designed.
