Oracle 8i won't install on gentoo because it needs glibc 2.1.x just to run
the installer and to link itself against...  While this a big problem as
Oracle 9i is out/coming out, it might be a good idea to look into a
-compat package when gentoo makes the jump from glibc 2.2.x to 2.3.x or
whatever.

Just a thought...
