Although the perl-5.6.1.ebuild does build, I noticed a 
strange error:

make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/portage/perl-5.6.1/work/perl-5.6.1'
/tmp/Gm4pumKX:12: *** missing separator (did you mean TAB instead of 8
spaces?).  Stop.
installhtml: no title for ././t/lib/dprof/V.pm at lib/Pod/Html.pm line

installhtml: ././ext/B/B/Bytecode.pm: unterminated list at =head in
paragraph 119.  ignoring.
installhtml: ././ext/IO/lib/IO/Handle.pm: cannot resolve L<fsync(3c)> in
paragraph 48. at lib/Pod/Html.pm line 1562.

Followed by another gazillion "cannot resolve L<whatever>..." errors.
