I did some checking and it turns out the default --config-file parameter in the \
grub(8) shell program changed. <BR> In GNU GRUB 0.95 --config-file defaulted to \
/boot/grub/menu.lst<BR> In GNU GRUB 0.97 --config-file defaults to \
/boot/grub/grub.conf<BR> <BR>
It looks like the grub(8) command to install grub needs to specify \
--config-file=/boot/grub/grub.conf which is odd behavior<BR> <BR>
