Good day Lindsay,

if all else fails, and it is good enough for you to use a non-free 
printer driver, then I think TurboPrint supports Epson Stylus 2200

I have used TurboPrint for two different computers during the past 
three years, and for me it has done what it was supposed to do.

TurboPrint is distro independent.
