Those packages are available from portage too, except they're in testing. 
You can add "media-gfx/nvidia-kernel ~x86" and "media-gfx/nvidia-glx 
~x86" to /etc/portage/package.keywords to be able to use the testing 
versions of the nvidia stuff.
