I followed all the most recent instructions and installs from the Gentoo
website with a clean and modern system. (It was nightmarish. It took a
week of debugging build failures). I was finally able to get a system that
boots to a rather gross looking text prompt, but seems healthy and can see
the internet.

I tried to follow the configuring your desktop guide, but I have become
stuck at the "startx" to test the basic XF86Config file. Supposedly, I am
supposed to get twm and be able to Ctrl-Alt out of it. Instead, twm pops up
on the screen and the computer locks up so hard I have to power-cycle it.

I am stuck. I have a rather typical compaq keyboard, ATI radeon video card,
17" compaq v 70 monitor, and logitech ps/2 wheel mouse.

There are no errors reported at any time that I know of.

If anyone can offer some help, I would really appreciate it.

Stony
