Do you have any error message in your kernel logs (type 'dmesg') about
"emulate raw mode" or something like that? I get those messages and as
I've learned, it has something to do with USB keyboards sending scan codes
(or keycodes, I'm not sure of the correct terminology) that are higher
than what it supported in the kernel <-> X keyboard interface. From what
I've read, the only way to get support for those keys is to:
1) switch to a PS/2 connection where all the codes are within the
approriate range
2) add some code to X to use the kernel's new input device event interface
(does anyone know of any projects that do this already?)
