There are a couple of issues w. regard to custom configuration of menus off
of the Main Menu in gnome 2.2 and gnome 2.4 which I can't figure out. Maybe
I should report report them to bugzilla.gnome.org as bugs. Then again,
maybe I'm missing something.

1. While the right-click "Entire menu | Add new item to this menu" Create
Launcher dialog offers a number of types for a new menu item, none of these
type options is for a adding a submenu. Is there a way, either using a
gconf config tool or a gnome UI feature to do this?

2. Missing also it the ability, apparently, to change the order of items in
a menu off of the Main Menu. How can this (or can this) be done?

Gnome used to have a menu editor, although it was always at least partially
fubar and with the exception of the now extinct "favorites" menu, changes
either couldn't be made or wouldn't stick. This is apparently now gone in
favor of the arguably superior procedure of editing the Main Menu tree from
dialogs and menus available in context. Full menu editing functionality
doesn't seem to be there yet, though.

Where and what are the master and per-user data structures which define the
options available from the Main Menu?
