Subject:    [gentoo-desktop] Unable to open multiple Mozilla Firebird instances

I am not able to open multiple instances of Mozilla Firebird when using 
either the normal ebuild or the -bin one. Whenever I try to open a 
second instance, I get a dialog box with the message:

Error launching browser window: TypeError:
Components.classes['@mozilla.org/appshell/component/browser/instance;1'] 
has no properties

I am also unable to invoke another Firebird instance using the -remote 
switch.

Anyone have any advice?
